Since receiving her bachelors degree in art from the University of Kentucky, Shirley Mack Jeter, and her husband Tom have resided in Lexington, Kentucky and are the proud parents of three daughters.  Shirley gained recognition for her artistic achievements when she owned and operated a gift shop, for ten years, specializing in custom designed gifts and commissioned paintings.  For nearly two decades, she has devoted her creative energies exclusively to watercolor paintings.  Her paintings have won many awards and hang in numerous public buildings as well as private collections.

Throughout the year, Shirley and Tom exhibit her paintings at juried art fairs and exhibitions.  She has exhibited in juried and invitational shows at the Lexington Opera House, The Living Arts and Science Center, The Lexington Art League, and has had one-person shows at J.C. Bradford Stock Brokers, Campbellsville University and The Living Arts and Science Center.  Shirley is a member of The Lexington Art League, The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, The Kentucky Watercolor Society and The Ohio Designers Guild. Shirley's work is distinguished by her use of intense, vibrant colors uncharacteristic of traditional watercolors.  Currently, Shirley Jeter Watercolors may be seen at the Miller Fine Art and Framing gallery at 501 E. High St., Lexington, Ky and Linda's Sandwich Shop, 214 South Limestone, Lexington, KY.
